Shahnaz won the fist Ramadhan
tourney held over two weekends, 14th
August 2010 and 21st August 2010.
She came back from behind to edge
out Toyo in the last game of the 16
games tourney. Makbul made his
appearance in a TASPA tourney after
a long time and made a promising
impression. After a strong start he
lost steam at the end games to

1ST AUGUST 2010 MAKBUL IS
BACK!!!
Hardly a week after ED's departure
TASPA had something to cheer about
after one of its oldest members
MAKBUL MANJI returned back to
Tanzania from the UAE. We hope he
remains here and we are looking
forward to some great Scrabble with
him. TASPA says a big KARIBU to
Makbul.
23RD JULY 2010 ED LEAVES TANZANIA

One of the most ardent Scrabble
players of TASPA, ED MILIANO, left
Tanzania for good. After staying in
Tanzania for almost three years he
has gone back to Ireland. Ed was one
of the key members of TASPA .Besides
being a good Scrabble player he was
an active committee member of TASPA
and was involved in all association
matters. He graciously hosted
several TASPA tourneys at his home
and was also instrumental in the
successful hosting of the ECASA
tourney in 2008. We miss him a lot
but wish him a successful and
prosperous life.
10TH MARCH 2010
Toyo won last weekend's twenty games
tourney. Leading by half a point
after the 19h game he picked up two
blanks, four S, X. Q, Z and Q to
beat Mushtak by 90 points. As a
result his rating shot by fifty two
points. shahnaz was second. For

2ND MARCH 2010
Shahnaz made her comeback, after a
month, in Saturday's Maulid day
tourney. The ten games tourney was
won by Mushtak. Shahnaz was second.
Immediately after this tourney
another one between Ed, Toyo, Quezi
and Mushtak was begun and went on
the next day. Mushtak edged out Toyo to
win two tourneys in a row. For results

Mushtak won today's tourney
covincingly with an impressive
spread of 1025. Zomboko failed to
impress, after his sterling
performance last week, as he slumped
to fourth place. Ed performed well

15TH FEBRUARY 2010
Yesterday Zomboko won his first ever
Scrabble tourney. In a four players
tourney he played Mushtak in the
last two games and won both times.
For his efforts he was handsomely
rewarded with 148 rating points. For results and

8TH FEBRUARY 2010
Mushtak won yesterday's tourney
convincingly. He was declared winner
after the 12th game. He won twelve
of the fourteen games and gained 57
rating points. All the other players

tourney will be held at Eds
residence,16 Kenyata drive, DSM.
First game starts at 8 15 am sharp.
It will be a fourteen games rated
tourney.

Shahnaz was in super form in
yesterday's fifteen games tourney.
She won with three clear games. Her
rating is now 1840.The tourney also
witnessed a very improved
performance from Quezi after his
recent poor form. He gained 56

EASA 2010:
Uganda will be hosting this year's
EASA ( East African Scrabble
Association) games during the Easter
holidays - 2nd April to 5th April
2010 - in Kampala. The member
countries Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania
will participate. Invitations will
also be sent to Zambia, Namibia and
Liberia to participate.

TASPA website was left unattended
for a long time for various reasons.
We have now resolved to maintain it
regularly and keep it up to date.
